We are big fans of Broadway. In fact, Mary Lou and I have a great Broadway story. We attended a trade show in NYC a few years ago and wanted to catch a show. Groupon was still a thing, and the site had two offers for discounted tickets to newer musicals: Finding Neverland and Hamilton. We only had time for one show, so we chose Finding Neverland which was spectacular. Two weeks later, we discovered that Hamilton was a bonafide Broadway hit. The show had sold out for years and ticket prices were no longer $36 a seat. Mary Lou and I learned a valuable lesson that day; buy the tickets to both shows–no excuses. The framed Playbill lives in our studio to remind us of the adventure.

I don’t know if I’ve ever cared about not creasing anything as much as I have a Playbill. I want that program to be pristine. However, I’d gladly take a crease for a few signatures. If you hung out near the door to get your Playbill signed, then you need to have that program framed and on display.

The only thing that feels fancier than a signed Playbill is a signed poster. Large and in charge, a signed musical or theater poster has presence. It makes for a great centerpiece on a collage wall or as a stand-alone showpiece.

In Baltimore, we’re fortunate to be surrounded by so many wonderful theaters and concert spaces. We’re almost spoiled for choice; if a show isn’t coming to Baltimore, then you can hop on the train to DC, Philadelphia, or New York City. It’s that easy.
